PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience of a position measurement system by making it unnecessary for a user who needs to estimate a position or position posture, to select which imaging apparatus distributed in a wide range to use. SOLUTION: The position measurement system for detecting a position or position posture of an object to be measured includes: a plurality of imaging apparatuses for photographing the object to be measured to generate detection information for showing a position of the object on the photographed image; an arbitration device for registering the plurality of imaging apparatuses; and an estimation device for estimating a position or a position posture of the object to be measured on the basis of detection information received from one or more imaging apparatuses among the plurality of imaging apparatuses. The arbitration device obtains a current position estimated of the object to be measured from the estimation device, selects an imaging apparatus to use for photographing the object to be measured on the basis of the current position obtained, and notifies the imaging apparatus selected of the estimation device as a transmission destination of the detection information.
