The motor control responds to time interval between previous stage measurements to control application of switching. The system provides control for a brushless motor having a number of windings (A,B,C) switched according to a predetermined cycle of stages. Each transition between stages is determined at an instant which follows a zero crossing of the back electromotive force by a given delay. The delay is chosen selectively according to a function of the measured time interval between specific preceding zero crossings. Long intervals are followed by a short delay, and vice versa, whilst medium length intervals are followed by a medium length delay. |
