<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for removing environmentally burdensome substance capable of exhibiting adsorption and degradation ability of an environmentally burdensome substance including NO<SB>X</SB>even in a comparatively low-temperature (normal-temperature) and moreover dark place. <P>SOLUTION: The material for removing environmentally burdensome substance is prepared by subjecting, for example, Mo<SB>2</SB>C, WC, W<SB>2</SB>C, NbC, ZrC, TaC, B<SB>4</SB>C, VC, Mn<SB>3</SB>C, Cr<SB>3</SB>C<SB>2</SB>or TiC to an activation treatment such as mechanical milling (MM) and heat treatment, whereby surface oxidized coated films and adsorbed materials are removed and thus, the base material is exposed, and powdery surfaces are newly formed. Then, the surface having high catalytic activity which is provided with high-density tangling bonds is efficiently created and, as the result, the degradation ability of the environmentally burdensome substance is increased. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
