<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-dimensional electrophoresis method and a kit for two-dimensional electrophoresis capable of executing quickly and simply connection operation between one-dimensional gel and two-dimensional gel by one device. <P>SOLUTION: This two-dimensional electrophoresis method has (1) a process wherein the first strip-shaped electrophoretic separation medium and the second electrophoretic separation medium are carried mutually at an interval on one support substrate, and swelled dry gel is arranged in the interval, to thereby provide a two-dimensional electrophoretic substrate, (2) a process for impregnating a sample into the first electrophoretic separation medium, (3) a process for performing primary separation by applying an electric field to the first electrophoretic separation medium, (4) a process for swelling the dry gel by adding the second swelling solution to the dry gel, and (5) a process for performing secondary separation of a component subjected to the primary separation by applying an electric field to both of the first and second electrophoretic separation mediums in the longitudinal direction of the first electrophoretic separation medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
