PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further reduce standby power required for electronic equipment which is operated by a remote controller. SOLUTION: A voltage charged in a backup capacitor 24 is used as a power supply voltage VDD for a controller IC 20 and a remote control receiver 35. Then, at a standby state that power supply of the electronic equipment 10 is off, a relay 13 is turned on when the voltage charged in the backup capacitor 24 falls to a predetermined value to charge the backup capacitor 24 by a voltage generation circuit, and after charging, the relay 13 is turned off. In addition, at the state that the power supply of the electronic equipment 10 is off, the remote control receiver 35 is intermittently operated, and when it is detected that the remote control receiver 35 receives a power on command from a remote control transmitter, the power supply of the electronic equipment 10 is turned on.
