PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting element which can be suitably used for image display by suppressing a black floating phenomenon, and to provide a highly reliable display device and electronic equipment equipped with the light-emitting element. SOLUTION: A light-emitting device 101 is configured of a cathode 12, an anode 3, a light-emitting layer installed between the cathode 12 and the anode 3, and configured to emit the rays of light when a voltage is applied between the cathode 12 and the anode 3, a cathode terminal 40 installed at a site which is not brought into contact with the anode 3 and the light-emitting layer, and configured to supply electron to the cathode 12, and an electronic adjustment layer 41 configured by including materials having insulation characteristics to adjust the quantity of electron to be supplied from the cathode terminal 40 to the cathode 12.
