<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a perfusion sleeve having an outside diameter of 1.4 mm or below to be used for phacoemulsification for cataract and intraocular lens implantation in ophthalmology. <P>SOLUTION: The outside diameter of an ultrasonic tip is 0.65 mm, and the outside diameter of a suction cannula in a perfusion suction handpiece is 0.65 mm. The outside diameter of an injector of a foldable intraocular lens (a cylinder assisting insertion into a chamber of the lens) is about 1.3 mm. An outside diameter of the perfusion sleeve is 1.3 mm, and its inner diameter is 1 mm. The ultrasonic tip, the perfusion suction handpiece, and the lens injector are inserted from a 2 mm incisional wound into an anterior chamber to conduct phacoemulsification for cataract and intraocular lens implantation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
