<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cross-metathesis of a terminal olefin. <P>SOLUTION: A disubstituted internal olefin product is produced by contacting a first terminal olefin with another first terminal olefin to form a dimer and then contacting the dimer with a second terminal olefin in the presence of a catalyst of formula I. In the formula, M is Os or Ru; R and R<SP>1</SP>are each hydrogen or a substituent selected from the group consisting of 1-20C alkyl, 2-20C alkenyl, 2-20C alkynyl, aryl, 1-20C carboxylate, 1-20C alkoxy, 2-20C alkenyloxy, 2-20C alkynyloxy, aryloxy, 2-20C alkoxycarbonyl, 1-20C alkylthio, 1-20C alkylsulfonyl and 1-20C alkylsulfinyl; X and X<SP>1</SP>are each an arbitrary anionic ligand; and L and L<SP>1</SP>are each an arbitrary neutral electron donor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
