PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the breakage, etc. of a low friction sheet, in such a configuration that a pressing member presses a pressure belt through the low friction sheet to form a fixing nip between the pressure belt and a fixing roller. SOLUTION: The pressing member 40 pressing the inner circumferential surface of the pressure belt 32 includes an elastic pressing body 41 and a rigid pressing body 42. An auxiliary member 43 is attached to the back of the elastic pressing body 41, and a pressing force is applied by the support body part 42a of the rigid pressing body 42 through the auxiliary member 43. The side edge portion on the upstream side in the revolving movement direction of the pressure belt 32 in the low friction sheet 44 is extended from the front surface side to the back surface side along the side surface of the elastic pressing body 41, and continuously held, over a predetermined length, between the rigid pressing body 42 and the auxiliary member 43 by the pressing force of the rigid pressing body 42 and the reaction force of the elastic pressing body 41 from the fixing roller 31.
