<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air battery system capable of obtaining sufficient output when starting the battery by properly controlling a gas in a casing and thereby suppressing self discharge, and also capable of suppressing deterioration of a battery life. <P>SOLUTION: In the air battery system, the casing 50, and a power generating part 40 housed in the casing 50 are provided, and a gas supply part 60 capable of switching operation, a gas exhaust part 70 capable of switching operation, and a pressure adjusting part 80 to adjust a pressure in the casing are provided in the casing 50.
