The method involves arranging sensors (3) with weak field (2) so as to capture two-dimensional images of an assembly. Three-dimensional co-ordinates of the assembly are calculated from the two-dimensional images of the captured assembly. The sensors are arranged so as to capture two-dimensional images of another assembly. The two-dimensional images of the latter captured assembly are acquired. Three-dimensional co-ordinates of the latter assembly are calculated from the two-dimensional images of the latter assembly. An independent claim is also included for a device for three-dimensional geometric control of a case of vehicle.
