PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that an exhaust gas energy recovering device using an exhaust turbine and a heat exchanger causes, for an internal combustion engine, an increase of resistance in an exhaust gas system and, when the resistance exceeds an allowable value of the internal combustion engine, the temperature of the exhaust gas rises to cause a malfunction such as abnormality. SOLUTION: This exhaust gas energy recovering device for an internal combustion engine includes: an exhaust turbine 5 provided in an exhaust gas duct 4 of an internal combustion engine 1 to exchange the kinetic energy of the exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine with the rotating energy; a temperature sensor 8 for detecting the temperature of the exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine 1; and a control device 9 for controlling turbine blades of an exhaust turbine to change an attack angle thereof based on the exhaust gas temperature detected by the temperature sensor. When the exhaust gas temperature rises, the control device 9 reduces the attack angle of the turbine blades of the exhaust turbine to reduce the resistance of the gas, and the exhaust gas temperature is thereby controlled within a safe operation range of the internal combustion engine.
