PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which is capable of improving image processing efficiency, when a plurality of image processors are directly connected, and to provide an imaging apparatus that includes such an image processing apparatus. SOLUTION: A margin storing buffer 106b is provided, with respect to a plurality of stages of image processors 1061a-106na. At image data inputting to the image processors 1061a-106na, the margin storing buffer 106b stores margin image data of a margin portion to also be used in image processing of the image data of a next block line, among the image data input. Image processing is performed on the input image data and the image data stored in the margin storing buffer 106b, during the processing on the image data of the next block line. The capacity of the margin storing buffer 106b is determined, according to the maximum value among total values of margin image data to be determined according to the operating modes of a camera.
