PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide dielectric materials having the same crystal structure and exhibiting different dielectric constants, and to provide a dielectric element using the same. SOLUTION: The dielectric materials are each a metal oxide insulator comprising oxygen and a metal element, and all of oxygen atoms constituting the insulator are either of O<SP>17</SP>or O<SP>18</SP>or the oxygen atom is any of O<SP>16</SP>, O<SP>17</SP>and O<SP>18</SP>. In the dielectric material, the dielectric constant is changed by changing the kind or the ratio of the oxygen isotopes constituting the metal oxide. The dielectric element is obtained by using the dielectric material. In the dielectric element, the distribution of the oxygen isotopes is inhomogeneous, and the dielectric constant of a part, where the average mass of oxygen atoms is large, is high, and the dielectric constant of a part, where the average mass of oxygen atoms is small, is low. The dielectric element is manufactured by a sol-gel method using water comprising O<SP>17</SP>or O<SP>18</SP>. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
