<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that achieves a reduction in space for retracting an exposure member from a photoreceptor. <P>SOLUTION: A photoreceptor drum 8 is disposed in an apparatus body 2. An LED unit 24 having an LED head 18 for exposing the photoreceptor drum 8 is disposed in the apparatus body 2. The LED unit 24 is displaced between an exposing position where the LED head 18 faces the photoreceptor drum 8 and a retracted position where the LED head 18 is retracted from the photoreceptor drum 8. Additionally, the printer 1 includes a flat bed scanner 4 for reading an image formed on a document. A support member 3 supporting the flat bed scanner 4 is disposed between the flat bed scanner 4 and the apparatus body 2.
