PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition control device capable of accurately detecting an ion current in a combustion chamber even during the discharging operation of an ignition plug. SOLUTION: The ignition control device for an internal combustion engine includes a first control circuit EQUa and a second control circuit EQUb which have the same constitutions. Each of the first and second control circuits has a switching element Q performing on/off-control with respect to the current of a primary coil L1, a bias circuit Bi with a capacitor C charged to a breakdown voltage level of a Zener diode ZD, and a signal detection circuit DET detecting a discharge current of the capacitor C. A first ignition plug PGa controlled by the first control circuit so as to be ignited and discharge an electrical current and a second ignition plug PGb controlled by the second control circuit so as to be ignited and discharge the electrical current are disposed in a single combustion chamber CLY so that the discharge current of the capacitor is made to flow from the first capacitor Ca into the second ignition plug PGb, meanwhile, the discharge current of the capacitor is made to flow from the second capacitor Cb into the first ignition plug PGa.
