PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress noise in a pump device and suppress a decrease in power transmission efficiency. SOLUTION: When a drive motor 104 is rotated in one direction, a vacuum generating section 102 is driven to put a diaphragm pump 440 into a vacuum state. The rotation of the drive motor 104 is transmitted through an eddy current clutch mechanism 120, and a cam 132 is rotated in a direction indicated by an arrow R3. As a result, a lever 130 is rotated in the valve closing direction of a valve 140 opened to the atmosphere, and a port 142 communicating with the atmosphere is put in a valve closing state. When the drive motor 104 is rotated in the other direction, the rotation of the drive motor 104 is transmitted through the eddy current clutch mechanism 120, and the cam 132 is rotated in a direction indicated by an arrow R4. In conjunction with this, the lever 130 is pushed up against the biasing force of a biasing spring 136, and a valve element 144 is lifted upward so that the port 142 communicating with the atmosphere communicates with the atmosphere.
