METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING GAS DIFFUSION ELECTRODE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a gas diffusion electrode having a highly uniform electrode catalyst layer.

SOLUTION: A water-repellent layer film is installed at a back face side of an electrode base material 11 in spreading slurry of catalyst particles 14 and fluoride resin particles 15 on the electrode base material 11 at an absorption and filtration step of a gas diffusion electrode manufacturing process. The water-repellent layer film is removed after uniformly spreading the slurry on the surface of the electrode base material 11 at this situation, and the electrode catalyst layer 12 is uniformly formed on the surface of the electrode base material 11 by absorbing and filtering the back face side of the electrode base material while the pressure of the back face side of the electrode base material 11 is reduced.
