PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition timing detecting device for a diesel engine suppressing lowering of detecting accuracy of an ignition timing even after a main combustion misfire. SOLUTION: This ignition timing detecting device for a diesel engine includes: main combustion period-integrating means S106, S205 for integrating output values of an acceleration sensor during a main combustion period; a preliminary combustion period-integrating means S202 for integrating output values of the acceleration sensor during a preliminary combustion period; a misfire determining means S110 for determining a misfire in the main combustion; a determination level-setting means S102 for setting an ignition timing determination level based on a ratio of the total integrated value obtained by dividing a total integrated value during the preliminary combustion period by a total integrated value during the main combustion period when there is no misfire in the main combustion, and setting an ignition period determination level based on a ratio of the total integrated value obtained by dividing the total integrated value during the preliminary combustion period by a total integrated value for a misfire when there is a misfire in the main combustion; and an ignition timing-detecting means S109 for detecting an ignition timing based on an arrival timing when the integrated value integrated since starting of the main combustion period reaches the ignition timing determination level.
