MEMORY CONTROLLER AND MEMORY SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A memory controller and a memory system including the same are provided to correct an error by a random in or out method, thereby increasing error correction performance. CONSTITUTION: A nonvolatile memory(100) comprises a memory cell array and a read/write circuit. The read/write circuit performs read/write operations in the memory cell array. A controller(200) controls the nonvolatile memory. If an error is detected in data received from the nonvolatile memory, the controller requests a data transfer suspension to the nonvolatile memory and corrects the detected error. If error correction is completed, the controller requests a data transfer recommencement to the nonvolatile memory.
