The pump i.e. high-pressure pump (1), has a pump piston (7) displaceably guided approximately radially to a drive shaft (2) in a cylinder head (8). The pump piston is supported on a cam or eccentric track (5) of the drive shaft over an idler roller (10) rotatably supported in a roller shoe (11). The pump piston is driven against an effect of a tappet spring (16) in a stroke movement. A tappet body (13) has arms (15) extended radially outward over the cylinder head, and the tappet spring is engaged at the arms. The arms extend via slots (26) of a pump housing (4) or the cylinder head.
