<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate resonance based on external sound using an acoustic piano. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic musical instrument 10 comprises: a resonance creating circuit 35 for creating resonance data by performing a predetermined cycles of product sum calculations with a series of waveform data on a time axis, and an impulse response coefficient, by reading an impulse response data stored in an impulse response data storage section 31; a switching circuit 36 for selecting either a musical sound waveform data of a predetermined pitch created by a sound generating circuit 25, or a waveform data based on a sound signal from a microphone 23, and outputting the waveform data to a resonance creation means; and an adder circuit 37 for adding the musical sound waveform data which is output from the sound generating circuit 25, and the resonance data.
