PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which has the improved accuracy of the determination of the life of consumables. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 detecting the deterioration state of the consumables includes: a paper feeding table 105 for supplying a paper for forming an image to an image forming section; a deterioration count adjustment section 123 for measuring the uniformity of the thickness of the supplied paper; a deterioration count value storage section 124 for counting the usage of the consumables according to the supply of the paper; and a life determination section 125 for detecting the deterioration state of the consumables based on the counted usage. The deterioration count value adjustment section 123 adjusts a value counted by the deterioration count value storage section 124, according to the measured uniformity of the thickness of the paper.
