Disclosed is a porous electrode which comprises at least a first porous layer (6), an intermediate layer (4a) and a second porous layer (11) laminated in this order on a substrate (1). The porous electrode is characterized in that the first porous layer (6) and the second porous layer (11) comprise microparticles made of the same material and the first porous layer (6) and the intermediate layer (4a) comprise microparticles made of different materials from each other. Preferably, the microparticles constituting the first porous layer (6) and the microparticles constituting the second porous layer (11) have different average particle diameters from each other.
