<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide folding type portable terminal equipment and the control method of the folding type portable terminal equipment, for detecting an external force to issue a warning even when any further configuration is not installed. <P>SOLUTION: A determination part 292 detects a contact area and a contact time based on information related with the contact position with the other object detected by a touch panel 24, and determines whether or not they exceed a threshold. When the result of detection exceeds the threshold, a warning part 293 is made to output warning.
