PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fence construction material made of bamboo, causing a sufficient drainage function, lightweight, and having high mechanical strength. SOLUTION: The fence construction material (1) includes outside split bamboo (4) in which a plurality of pieces of split bamboo (23) approximately having the same length are arranged; inside split bamboo (5) in which a plurality of pieces of split bamboo (23) approximately having the same length are arranged; weaving materials (6) for weaving each split bamboo (23) of the outside split bamboo (4) and each split bamboo (23) of the inside split bamboo (5) into the shape of a reed screen by displacing the inside split bamboo (5) in the axial direction relative to the outside split bamboo (4); and fastening members (7) for fastening a whorl body (3) outside the inside split bamboo (5) which are spirally or tubularly wound. The whorl body (3) is formed by spirally and continuously winding the outside split bamboo (4). Gaps (10) between adjacent pieces of the split bamboo (23) and inner cavities (11) in the inside split bamboo (5) generate a drainage function in soil.
