POWER CONTROL FOR POINT-TO-MULTIPOINT SERVICE PROVIDED IN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission power control method and apparatus that reduce hindrance (interference) in transmission to other subscribers to enable point-to-multipoint service in an infrastructure of a mobile communication system.

SOLUTION: A sector 104 monitors the quality measurement standard detection results of a forward link channel, the results being fed back from a subscriber station 102 through a reverse link dedicated channel 108. Further, the sector 104 adjusts the power of a forward link shared channel according to the worst quality measurement standard. A sector 108 transmits a power control command of a reverse link dedicated channel to the subscriber station 102 on a forward link shared channel 106.
