PURPOSE: A menu output system using a probe function and a method for the same are provided to increase a menu output speed thereof by identifying a current-used display device and outputting a control menu to an identified display device. CONSTITUTION: A detection message output unit(220) outputs a detection message to display devices, and a response identifying unit(240) identifies a currently-used display device based on the corresponding relationship between the detected user response and the detection message. An optimized menu output unit(250) outputs an optimized menu to the identified display device.
