摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a bottleneck by considering an allocation policy for physical resources and influence on software in a system wherein a plurality of virtual machines share physical resources. <P>SOLUTION: A performance monitoring system comprises a server, a storage system coupled to the server, and a management computer for managing the server and the storage system. The server comprises a plurality of virtual machines executed therein, the plurality of virtual machines being generated by logically dividing the server. The management computer is configured to: manage information regarding a resource allocation policy; determine whether or not a bottleneck has occurred in the logical resource of a specified virtual machine; obtain a performance value indicating influence of performance of the logical resource where a bottleneck has occurred, on performance of the virtual machine; determine, on the basis of the obtained performance value, whether a bottleneck causing large influence on the virtual machine has occurred; and notify that a large bottleneck has occurred in the virtual machine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p>
