PURPOSE: A hydrogen storage device using metal hydride is provided to increase the time for which hydrogen is regularly produced by maintaining the effective heat-transfer area. CONSTITUTION: A hydrogen storage device comprises a body(210), a hydrogen pipe(220), a heating pipe(260), and a compression unit(250). The body has a sealed internal space in which metal hydride(240) is stored. The hydrogen pipe allows the hydrogen produced from the metal hydride to flow out or the hydrogen absorbed into the metal hydride to flow in. Hot water flows in from one end of the heating pipe and is discharge through the other end, where the both ends of the heating pipe are exposed to the outside of the body. The compression unit is assembled out of a plurality of leaf springs placed in the internal space. Sides of the leaf springs are overlapped with each other to form a cylindrical pipe while the other sides are extended in the radial direction within the internal space.
