PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel cord following lift in vulcanization forming in tire manufacturing process and giving a tire as finished product having sufficient rigidity contributing to reduce road noise and to improve steering stability in high speed driving. SOLUTION: The steel cord 1A is produced by twisting four element wires 3 having a diameter of 0.08-0.15 mm to form a strand 2 and twisting five strands 2 around a nylon core 4. The twisting direction of the strand 2 is the same as the twisting direction of the steel cord 1A, and gaps S1 of 0.03-0.10 mm are present between a plurality of strands 2.
