PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dynamically set a marginal time for appropriate command processing according to a host computer connected to an optical disk drive. SOLUTION: The optical disk drive which reads data from a loaded optical disk medium according to a processing command from a high order device, determines reception of a processing command from a high order device, and a reset command transmitted when the high order device determines time out about the processing of the processing command, measures the time until receiving the reset command after receiving the processing command when the processing of the received processing command does not end until receiving the reset command after receiving the processing command, and decides the processing time limit shorter than the measured time.
