PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide group communication services for providing group communication services beyond a traditional boundary of a group communication system. SOLUTION: Each of a plurality of communication devices converts information signals into data packets suitable for transmission through a data network, such as the Internet. The data packets are transmitted through the data network to a communication manager. The communication manager acts as a configurable switch, allowing communication from any communication device to be routed to the plurality of communication devices.
