PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cigarette lighter for an automobile capable of reducing the number of parts and kinds of parts and suppressing deformation of a bimetal by suppressing insertion of an accessory socket even when an outer diameter of the accessory socket to be inserted is outside standard. SOLUTION: The cigarette lighter for the automobile includes the bimetal 110 for gripping a lighter plug 200 provided with a heat generation body 207 and releasing gripping of the lighter plug 200 by rising of temperature by energization; a terminal 107 electrically connected to the bimetal 110 and becoming a feeding end of a current; and an insulator 104 formed by an insulation material for retaining the bimetal 110 and the terminal 107.
