PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a modified silica by which the modified silica having excellent dispersibility when compounded in a polymer such as a cyclic olefin polymer can be produced. SOLUTION: The method for producing the modified silica includes mixing silica surface-treated with an epoxy group-containing silane coupling agent, with the cyclic olefin polymer having a functional group selected from a carboxy group, a carboxylic anhydride group and a hydroxyphenyl group, in a solvent. Preferably, the volume-averaged particle diameter of the silica surface-treated with the epoxy group-containing silane coupling agent is≤1μm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
