<p>A method of manufacturing a heatsink comprises the steps of extruding a heatsink profile (1), the profile comprising a web (3) having a plurality of parallel fins (5) projecting from a side of the web; cutting the heatsink profile into a plurality of pieces (7), wherein each cut (9) is made obliquely with respect to the direction of extrusion, so that each cut piece (7) adopts the shape of a parallelogram having a first pair of cut sides (11,13) and a second pair of non-cut sides (15, 17); aligning the plurality of pieces (7) in a row so that the non-cut sides (15, 17) of adjacent pieces (7) come into contact with each other; joining the aligned pieces (7) to each other so as to create a new heatsink profile having angled fins (5).</p> |
