METHOD OF MODIFYING TIMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of modifying a timber capable of injecting efficiently a treatment chemical uniformly into the timber by a simple process without executing treatment causing the lowering of the strength of the timber and the generating deviation in structure. SOLUTION: The method of modifying the timber carries out degassing treatment to remove air from the inside of the timber. The timber is immersed into an immersion liquid containing the treatment chemical. The timber is further treated at a high-temperature and high-pressure state in a state of being immersed into the immersion liquid, and the treatment chemical is thereby injected uniformly and efficiently into the timber.
