The valve e.g. backflow preventer, has an axially mobile spring-tensioned plate-shaped valve body (1) provided with a closed valve at front side (1a) of the body at a valve seat (7). An opening movement of the body is limited by a circular surface (5) of a valve cage (3). The body attaches with rear-side (1b) of the body at the valve cage. The valve cage forms a flow path at an exterior of the cage. The fluid passes through the flow path over the exterior surface with opened valve, and an outer circular edge (1c) of the body includes a chamfer and/or a rounding.
