PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically and properly adjust image quality of image data according to individual image data. SOLUTION: When a memory card MC is inserted into a slot 34, a control circuit 30 of a color printer 20 obtains image processing control information GC from the memory card MC, and analyzes the information. A CPU 31 corrects a reference value for each image quality parameter representing the characteristics of the image data, to reflect the image processing control information GC. The CPU 31 corrects the value of each image quality parameter so as to bring the value close to the corrected reference value, and adjusts the image quality of image data to the corrected image quality parameter values.
