PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powdery solid cosmetic high in the color saturation of the appearance of itself, good in spread after application, forming a cosmetic film uniform and excellent in transparency, and high in the effect of imparting a feeling of three-dimensionality. SOLUTION: This powdery solid cosmetic is formulated by blending the following components (A) to (C): (A) a platy synthetic powder having a refractive index of above 1.5 to below 2.0; (B) a pigment which is made dichroic, namely, different between its apparent and interference colors, by forming a single layer of titanium lower oxide on the platy particles; and (C) an oil.
