PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the inside of a lower storage chamber surely visible by the light of a luminaire from the inside of a refrigeration chamber via a partitioning plate when opening a door of the refrigeration chamber. SOLUTION: This refrigerator comprises the refrigeration chamber 3 provided in a refrigerator body 1, the door 9 of the refrigeration chamber 3 blocking a front opening of the refrigeration chamber 3, an internal illuminating lamp 11 lit when the door 9 of the refrigeration chamber is opened and lighting the inside, the storage chamber 5 disposed below the refrigeration chamber 3, a drawer door 13 blocking a front opening of the storage chamber 5, a storage container 15 with an opened upper part and drawn and withdrawn in conjunction with the action of the drawer door 13, a container illuminating lamp 17 lit when the drawer door 13 is opened and lightening the inside of the storage container 15, and the partition plate 7 formed of a transparent material vertically partitioning the refrigeration chamber 3 and the storage chamber 5. The storage container illuminating lamp 17 is lit when the door 9 of the refrigeration chamber is opened, and the inside of the lower storage container 15 can surely be seen by the light of the luminaire from the inside of the refrigeration chamber 3.
