PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation control device of a passenger conveyor capable of preventing a stipulated number of passengers or more from getting on a step. SOLUTION: This operation control device includes: a load detection device provided in an entrance floor board of the passenger conveyor to detect downward load applied to the entrance floor board; and a speed control device for reducing speed of the passenger conveyor when the load detection device continuously detects load of first detection load set in advance or more for fixed time, and stopping the passenger conveyor when the load detection device continuously detects load of second detection load which is a value larger than the first detection load and set in advance or more for fixed time.
