PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a user recognize a fault of a switching element. SOLUTION: In a power tool, power is supplied to a motor M as a power source through the switching element 5 which is turned on/off by a motor control means 6. The power tool includes a determination part for determining the fault of the switching means by electric potential applied to the switching means when switched on; and an information means 7 for informing the fault by the output of the determination part.
