<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell which can guide a reaction gas supplied from a reaction gas inflow passage to an interface on catalyst layer side of a gas diffusion layer by arranging a material with low permeability of the reaction gas at a proper location, and which is superior in reaction gas supply. <P>SOLUTION: In the fuel cell, the downstream end of a reaction gas inflow passage and the upstream end of a reaction gas outflow passage are respectively closed, and the reaction gas inflow passage and the reaction gas outflow passage are arranged mutually separated by a separator. In order that the quantity of reaction gas flowing in the vicinity of an interface on the catalyst layer side of a gas diffusion layer may be larger than the quantity of the reaction gas flowing in the vicinity of the interface on the separator side of the gas diffusion layer in at least one of the gas diffusion layer out of the anode side gas diffusion layer and the cathode side gas diffusion layer, a gas flow control part consisting of a material with relatively lower permeability of reaction gas than the other portion of the gas diffusion layer is arranged at a part or the whole of the region from the interface on the separator side to the depth not reaching the interface on the catalyst layer side of the gas diffusion layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
