PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection device capable of performing more appropriate ejection control in accordance with temperature change while suppressing usage of a storage means, and to provide a method for controlling the liquid ejection device. SOLUTION: When temperature acquired from a temperature sensor is set as center temperature Tm, waveform data corresponding to each temperature by change unit temperatureΔTu in a temperature range of center temperature Tm±α°C is stored in a waveform memory 46, and updating (rewriting) processing of the waveform data stored in the waveform memory is performed in accordance with the temperature detected by the temperature sensor at regular updating intervals.
