<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood component separator having a serum forming function which forms serum in an amount practically used in the presence of a liquid component and platelets originating from the blood by coagulation activating action. <P>SOLUTION: This serum preparing device includes a blood coagulation accelerating container, a blood component lead-out passage connected to the blood coagulation accelerating container on one end side thereof, a serum preserving container connected to the other end of the blood component lead-out passage and a serum separating filter provided to the blood component lead-out passage and having a large number of pores not permitting blood corpuscle components to pass but permitting the serum to pass.
