PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem, wherein even though the number of monitoring cameras set in a monitoring system extends from several tens to one hundred or more images thereof are assigned to a plurality of cameras per monitor, a screen is divided into 4, 8, 16, ..., and are sequentially switched, and images are displayed on a plurality of monitors, but when a trouble occurs in a monitor, the image of the camera assigned to the monitor in which the trouble has occurred cannot be seen. SOLUTION: In a system displaying images of a plurality of monitoring cameras on a plurality of monitors through a network, a memory table having assignment relationship information between a camera and a monitor is preliminarily prepared for display switchover, all the camera images can be switched immediately and displayed, when a trouble occurs in any of the monitors by exerting control with reference to the information of the memory table at detection of troubles, and monitoring can be performed, without passing over a suspicious event, or the like.
