The device has a wheel (7) arranged at a wheel suspension (7.4), and a locking bolt (9) provided in a region of the wheel suspension and arranged in a vehicle (1). The locking bolt moves close to or away from a section of a circumferential region of the wheel. The locking bolt is formed in a rod-shape and supported on a side of a bearing (10), where a free end section of the locking bolt is locked by a control unit. A safety device (13) is connected with the locking bolt and designed as a mechanical locking device.
