PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size, weight, and cost of a power converter which is equipped with a four-quadrant DC/DC converter and an inverter. SOLUTION: The power converter 2 steps-up or steps-down a direct-current power supplied from a battery 5 and this is then converted it into a three-phase alternating-current power for supply to a motor 7. The power converter 2 is so structured that the four-quadrant DC/DC converter 3 and the inverter 4 are integrated and IGBT-Q3 and IGBT-Q4 are shared between the DC/DC converter 3 and the inverter 4. A DC/DC converter controller 14 and a motor controller 10 control the duty of IGBT-Q1 to IGBT-Q4 so that the ratio of the duty of a set of the IGBT-Q3 and the IGBT-Q4, and the duty of a set of the IGBT-Q1 and the IGBT-Q2 and a ratio of an input voltage (Vin) and an output voltage (Vout) become equal to one another.
