PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a front feed device having excellent maintainability, residing at a focal portion of a main reflecting mirror, and having a drive system performing three functions of multi-frequency band switching, polarized wave switching and conical scanning, and a maintenance method therefor. SOLUTION: A POL drive unit includes a POL axis gear 18 and a POL drive motor 18. An XY drive unit includes Y-axis linear guide 23, Y-axis ball screw 25, X-axis linear guide 26, X-axis ball screw and each motor disposed on each ball screw axis. A POL drive system access panel 14 and an XY drive system access panel 15 are positioned on the lower surface of a front feed unit 2 in the vertical direction, with an elevation angle set to 0°in the main reflecting mirror of an antenna device. The maintenance of a POL drive system and an XY drive system is performed after the POL drive system access panel 14 and the XY drive system access panel 15 are removed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
